It was basically the East Coast's answer to Doggstyle and Suge let Puffy clear a few samples and obviously it's stylized as an West Coast gangsta-rap project.īut it was different because we never quite heard a solo rapper from NYC with the ability to smash the charts with hardcore gangsta rap but at the same time make songs that appealed to the underground and had songs for the ladies/clubs.Biggie was like Kool G.Rap but had the appeal of an LL Cool J but he knew how to get suave for the ladies even though he was fat like Heavy D. On the Infamous's official release I can't think of one song that's album filler that could've been left off.
I don't really like the voices he's doing on there, I get that it's one of the conceptual songs that sets the theme for the character but I always found it silly on some lampoon sh*t! Now, the remix or the version of Me and My bi*ch on the Show soundtrack with the Zapp's Computer Love sample was my sh*t! But I don't like the album version's production.Īlso, Friend of Mine is definitely album filler, and Gimme the Loot even on the remastered version just wasn't mixed right period. For me and what I like to listen to it has no skippable tracks on the official release and on Ready to Die I personally don't care for Gimme the Loot, Friend of Mine nor the album version of Me and My bi*ch.
